- i'm a sucker for names ending in -ian, and Christian fits the bill; its masculine, but still sounds almost delicate David- David is a family name, and i've always loved it.
- After the character in the movie Moulin Rouge. Not only a nice religious name, but it has a romantic, storybook quality to it as well. In the movie, Christian has the gift of poetry, song and writing. Now I imagine someone with these qualities when I hear this name.
